What is Peyronie's Disease?
Peyronie’s disease is a condition which causes new onset bending or deformity of the penis and pain with erections.
It is caused by inflammation and scar tissue within the penis, which prevents the penis from increasing in length and girth during an erection.
What causes Peyronie's Disease?
Most cases of Peyronie’s disease do not have an indentifiable cause.
It occurs more commonly in men who have had trauma to the penis, have diabetes, have erectile dysfunction, or have a “connective tissue” disorder.
What are the symptoms of Peyronie's Disease?
Peyronie’s disease usually causes progessive curvature and shortening of the penis over 6 to 12 months, before stabilising.
It also commonly causes pain with erections, which will eventually resolve on its own.
Severe cases of Peyronie’s disease can lead to Erectile Dysfunction.

Peyronie’s disease is diagnosed based on your medical history and an examination.
Scans and other tests usually aren’t required.

While there is no cure for Peyronie’s disease, the symptoms of the disease can be treated.
