Dr Burke’s sub-specialty area of interest is in diseases of the kidney, including laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery for kidney tumours and minimally invasive surgery for stone disease.

Education and medical training
Dr Burke graduated from medicine at the University of Queensland in 1994.
He was Research Fellow at St. George Hospital in Sydney in 2001 and completed Urology Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2003.
This was followed by additional sub-specialty training in Oxford in the UK, during which time he developed further expertise in all aspects of Urological Surgery, particularly for kidney cancer and stones.
Other interests
Dr Burke is also a Consultant Urologist and the former Director of Urology at the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital.
In his spare time, he enjoys swimming and cycling.
