For over twenty years I have been helping people with cancer and chronic disease adjust to the challenges that come with diagnosis and treatment, applying my qualifications and expertise as a Health Psychologist.
My special skills and capabilities include stress and anxiety management, decision support, coaching in coping skills, managing relationships and planning for wellbeing.
I have extensive experience working with men who have prostate cancer and their partners, complemented by knowledge and insights in other chronic and life-threatening conditions. I am currently the most published researcher internationally in prostate cancer/prostatectomy and quality of life. I have also worked with people who have experienced other cancers, including lung, breast and colorectal cancer.
My approach encompasses cognitive behavioural techniques integrating elements of acceptance, commitment and self-compassion, to assist people to maximise their wellbeing and move towards valued personal goals.
